Аннотация	The article consistently reveals the process of formation of population’s socio-economic inequality since the Soviet period up to the present. The author identifies and analyzes the factors that played the most important role in this connection, such as price liberalization, hyperinflation, privatization, the depreciation of savings, increase in wages differentiation, unemployment, the change of population’s income structure, development of shadow economy.
